This seems to be what you want. What do get if follow the same procedure? Good morning All, Thanks for your investigation and reply Mark. The filename was already the renamed one, but when using AR again this is hat I get One that is in my opinion not correct about 1 day off and also different than the properties of the photo indicate.
When I look at the image you sent, the Exif shows: Date Time or Taken : Date Time Original: Date Time Digitized: which is the name of the file.Como borrar inquiries de mi credito
This is not the case with your image, of course. Now it depends what you want. It looks like you took the picture on the 2nd, the light is about right for GMT my assumption.
It does not look like it was taken at GMT on the 3rd. AR has a tag for Date Taken. It does not look like it has one for Date Digitized. You may have to email Kim directly, please feedback whatever you find. I will double check, but I have no explanation for that.Support for the Renaming Utility - www. FYI my system W7x64 Ult. However when checking the file properties, this date appears in a field called "Media Created" within a properties section entitled "Origin". I have tried ALL of the date options in the autodate section 8 of BRU but none of them pick up this date; I either get the date the file was first copies to different media, or the date of the backup copy I am experimenting with, etc.
Does anyone know either: a Is there another way to pick up this date automatically and use it for bulk rename? Thanks in advance, Alastair. Is there any chance this could be picked up in the next release?
Seems like a small but important thing - we know the "correct date" is present in the metadata, otherwise it wouldn't appear at all in fact when listed in Windows Explorer, for files with a Media Created date present, this is the date used by Windows as "the" date. So surely just a case of adding this to the list of drop-down options in the utility?
Otherwise I've got to manually rename nearly files, which rather defeats the purpose! Thanks in advance One of the types is "taken" which is from the EXIF data properties.
However, yes, I had tried them and having re-tried following your post Any other thoughts? Could the software pick this up on the next iteration? It must be easy data to find since Windows Explorer shows it as the main "date" when it exists. How can I extract the date from the? Media Created? And value? Therefore no result was given with the command.

The tool I currently use for renaming files I transfer from my camera to the PC is ReNamerwhich has a sleek UI and is nifty for adding detailed timestamps of shots to the filenames of photographs.
However, the best it can do for video files is add the modification date which is the moment of conclusion of a recording, whereas I would like it to use the time at its beginning in local time - not UTC. Looks like a custom program is needed using a program like exiftool. Last edited by Budman1; 26th Aug at If you can be more specific, am I looking at creating a command line for exiftool that will do the task?
Furthermore, can it be made to handle batches of files? Advanced Renamer with ExifTool can batch rename files based on Exif data, including date. They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety. Thank you for that information drjtech.
Looks like exiftool is included with the Advanced Renamer files so you can use this and not have to create a new program and it has a batch function also. No, I have already tried that tool, it doesn't read what I want which is the "encoded date" data. What type of rename are you looking for? It would be possible to use something like this to obtain what you need for Advanced Renamer. Is there a big need for this or just a one time usage?

I have some MP4 videos that don't have Media Created date and time because they were recorded with Instagram camera. I want to set the date and time and I found out that I can do that with Exiftool software. I know that the software works by typing command lines, but I don't know where I should type what.

I searched on Google and didn't find any helpful results. I downloaded the software and got "exiftool -k. What should I do now? I have no idea how it works.Pycharm no module named scapy
I hope somebody can write simple steps just to set that Media Created date. First you will probably want to rename the exiftool -k. Then you will want to use one of these commands. In the case of your example filename, the filename appears to have been named for the time it was taken i.
This will work correctly as long as the image was taken in the same time zone as the computer your currently working on. Exiftool will automatically write the correct time based upon the local computer time.

Thanks for your answer. I did what you said, placed exiftool. Sorry, I messed up on the command. I'll rewrite the answer when I get a chance. The time zone should be the correct one for where the video in question shot. Windows will adjust the the date it shows based upon the time zone of the computer reading it, so computers in different time zones will show different times.
It works now! Thank you so much! I have one more question, just to understand the code for future purposes.Forums New posts Search forums. Media New media New comments Search media.
